Hickory Nut Farm is a small, family owned and operated farm located in rural Lee, New Hampshire. The love and affection that the architects-turned-farmers husband and wife team bestows on their animals is what helps produce the quality and taste of the cheeses they offer. Each and every product made by the team at Hickory Nut Farm is individually crafted by skilled workers, meaning no two wheels of cheese produced with the same recipe and method have exactly the same taste or texture due to the variables that can’t be controlled.

Each product is unique and hand-made—nothing is mass-produced. Each bar of soap is equally hand-crafted, as is the farm’s yo-goat-gurt and confections.

ANIMAL FARMS

The land at Hackmatack Bison Farm has been farmed by the Guptill family since the 1680’s, and today the farmers raise 100% grass-fed American Bison (or Buffalo) and heritage-breed mangalitsa pigs. At Hackmatack Bison Farm, the team focuses on regenerative and sustainable practices, paying careful attention to the needs of their heritage animals, to ensure they live stress-free lives grazing in green pastures or rooting up grub in their forested home. The farm’s products are hormone free, antibiotic free and absolutely tasty. In addition to the many different cuts of meat, the farm store offers hyper-local products including duck, chicken, eggs, and locally crafted artisan goods and homemade treats.

Hackmatack Farm is also home to a live entertainment venue, called Hackmatack Playhouse that hosts weekly regional-based bluegrass musicians, touring national concerts, mainstage theater performances, youth children theater camps, and more! This unique space comes together on a beautiful farm land nestled among the woods of Berwick, Maine.

Vernon Family Farm is a first generation, diversified pastured livestock farm located in Newfields, New Hampshire that raises pastured nonGMO chicken, grass-fed beef, pastured lamb and pork. This year the farm added a selection of vegetables and cut flowers too! Vernon Family Farm is home to an on-site farm store that is open daily, 9am-6pm—all year long. Their store serves the community as a one-stop shop for local food. The farm’s outdoor agritourism events highlight farm fresh food prepared by their sister company, Vernon Kitchen—a catering company that caters on and off farm events. Agritourism events held at the farm are a great way to step into the local community that the farm has built over the last 10 years. Live music events, art workshops, cooking classes and more are offered May-October. Fun for the whole family!!
