Hazelnut? Peanut? Corn nut? If you could describe yourself as any kind of nut, which one would it be?? Speaking of being “nutty” (How’s that for a segue??), The Nutty Professor is now LIVE and on stage at the Ogunquit Playhouse, and we’re all in for a treat!

After attending a performance of The Nutty Professor at The Ogunquit Playhouse this weekend and joining the entire audience in a standing ovation, and singing our way out of the historic theatre, all we can say is “GO”!

Let’s set the scene…

We’re at Korwin College in the early 1960’s. When we first meet a certain “nutty professor”, he is the laughing stock of the school who, due to some chemical experiments gone wrong, is at risk of having his job revoked. Drama ensues… Due to some chemical experiments gone right, and a new “female professor” who enters the scene, Professor Klump miraculously turns into the coolest cat in town. But there’s a twist…

A dance break here! A dramatic solo there! A belly laugh! A chuckle! A sigh of relief! The lighthearted and relatable plot, combined with the unique collection of characters, kept us engaged and sitting at the edge of our seats during the entire performance. But what else would we expect from two Tony Award-winning musical producers and a Broadway-caliber cast??

What we especially loved about the Ogunquit Playhouse’s performance of The Nutty Professor is that it’s fun and funny for the whole family—a true “crowd pleaser” for every age! We can’t wait to hear what you think!

AND… SCENE!
